"They did the mooooonster
mash!"
We have all learned through the years, that when Capcom
releases a new Resident Evil title, they mean business.
Code Veronica X is no exception! Capcom producer Shinji
Mikami has, however done much more expanding of the
recent project, such as, additional footage that reveals
a more understandable Wesker, unfolding into an ultimate
(Although, a little wierd) plot to say the least. This
game also includes a pleasant little treat, which is,
the exclusive Devil May Cry demo.
The story takes place
after Resident Evil 2. Of course, Claire continues to
search for her long lost brother, Chris. Her exploration
leads her to the Lion's den, an Umbrella Corporation
lab. After a short confrontation with some of Umbrella's
little loyalists, Claire has no choice but to surrender.
They take her to a small base on the outskirts of Racoon
City (At least, I think. The story dosen't tell.). As
she is in her cell, a small but deadly biotoxin outbreak
occurs. Claire is released, leaving her to navigate
her way through the goonie infested pathways.
The charachters in the
game have different points of view. You'll be toggling
about the three playable charachters (Claire, Chris,
and a guy named Steve.). Like I said, the plot is wierd,
but the pure action and adrenaline you get from this
game will have you on your toes for hours on end. The
graphics are gorgeous, the sound is what you'd expect
from an RE game, and the playability not a far cry from
outstanding. As I also mentioned before, the bonus footage
reveals a deeper Wesker, and what his true intentions
are.
In conclusion, this game
is extremely worth getting. The act of suspense (Which
is Mikami's cup of tea), is enough to get the hair standing
on the back of your neck. This game is by far one of
the best RE installments yet, which makes me even more
excited about the Gamecube release of the first chapter!
