Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
Gameplay:
At first I was a little weary of this title, because I heard it used the
"Sk8ter : Thrash And Destory" engine. I didn't really like Sk8ter
Thrash And Destory but I thought that it was better than other wanna be tony
hawk's (Grind Session Just To Name). So I played the BMX game on the Tony Hawk
engine and it was ok, but it didnt really feel like I was controling a bike. So
I decided to give Dave Mirra a shot, and boy was I surprised! The gameplay is
great! I have played this game for probably 20 hours and I am still not board!
The controls couldn't be any better. The only thing that is a little upsetting
is the frame rate, it is usually a pretty solid 26-30 fps but the times that it
does slow done it goes down to around 9 or 10 fps. But other than that the game
is great!
Graphics:
The graphics are top notch. The player models are perfectly modeled after their
real life counter parts. It is pretty cool when you fall, it looks like someone
threw a rag doll onto the ground. The levels look great too. Although they could
use a little more interactivity.
Sound:
Just like tony hawk, this is another 4 star sound track! A great mix of music,
the person who chose the music has really good taste in music! Im surprised they
didn't launch a Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX soundtrack, Im sure it would have sold
good.
Graphics: 8.5/10
Sound: 10/10
Gameplay 10/10
Lasting Appeal: 10/10
Overall: 9/10
